First, you will go over some basic information regarding the equipment and procedures, followed by a visit to the Frederiksted Pier. There you will get in shallow water (3-4 feet) and go over a few safety skills.

Following this practice session, you will head straight out to do your first open water dive!  This dive will be with the instructor by your side the entire time, showing you numerous fish and marine life. Your deepest point will be 40 feet. Following this course, you can continue on with diving with us for the rest of the week without having to redo the skill session. Another option is to continue with your open water certification. The discover scuba diving course counts as credit towards the first part of you open water certification.

You will need to answer a medical form to qualify you to dive without seeing a doctor. Click here to open the medical form

Open Water Certification ($ 350) - This course completed will allow you to dive worldwide for life.  The open water course takes approximately twenty hours worth of time. The first part of the course includes watching a video/DVD at home or in your room, followed by going over the the book and filling out the reviews at the end of each chapter. (This first part can also be done over the internet, click here for more information)

The second part of the course involves practice sessions in shallow water where you practice dive skills in a depth that is comfortable.
