I
did a DSD in Turks & Caicos in August 2002 and it was
all over. When
I got home, I immediately
signed up and got certified in
Southern California
which, to put it mildly, is a bit different.
But, I came to love the kelp forests, the sea
lions, the garibaldi, even the cold wasn’t that bad.
In November 2005, I quit my job and went on a
35-day trip to
Kona
,
Fiji
and
Australia
. By the time
I got home, I decided I wanted to teach, and that’s
what I’ve been doing ever since.
Before
coming to N2 The Blue, I worked on a live-aboard that ran
from St. Maarten to St. Kitts, then spent some time in
Key Largo
. I’ve
made a lot of new friends, and there’s nothing like
seeing a student’s face the first time they do an
open water dive or when they learn a new skill.
The guests really are what make the job so much
fun. I
can’t believe they pay me to do this!
Now, I’m a
California
girl at heart, but like Anne says, we’ve got lots of
great critters and fish here and while they can’t
replace sea lions, they are pretty cool in their own
right. Come on
down and let us show you our little slice of paradise. |
